English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder Dele Ali has ended an apology for a video he posted on social media which suggests he was mocking at an Asian with regards to the deadly Coronavirus.
Dele Ali in his apology said he realised the video he posted was not funny and that he immediately pulled it down after posting it.
The midfielder on his snapchart posted a video which had an Asian being unfairly mocked due to suggestions that he might be a carier of the deadly Coronavirus.
In his apology, Dele said he regretted what he did and that he has let himself and the club down.
“Hi guys, it’s Dele; I just wanted to apologise on my behalf for the video I posted on Snapchat yesterday,” Dele Ali said.
“It wasn’t funny and I realised that immediately and took it down. I let myself down and the club. He added.
Dele also pleaded with the public not to have such an impression of him because the situation of the deadly virus is not something anyone should joke with and that he will continue to send his love and prayers to the people of China.
“I don’t want you to have that impression of me because it wasn’t funny and I realised that straight away and took it down.
“It isn’t something that should be joked about. I’m sending all my love and all my thoughts and prayers to everyone in China.”
There have been more than 900 confirmed deaths from the outbreak in China.
