94 students from the University of Ghana who came into contact with the only student who tested positive for coronavirus have tested negative.
A statement released by authorities of the academic institution suggests the said students and staff members were the primary contacts of the positive patient.
It was disclosed that all the primary contacts were put into mandatory quarantine and were later tested after 14 days as protocols required.
The university and its members were asked to self-quarantine whiles other protocols were being observed before the president of the Republic Nana Akufo Addo ordered a temporal shutdown of all academic institutions.
As it stands, Ghana has recorded 152 coronavirus cases with 5 deaths which has resulted in a partial lockdown of some major cities in the country including Accra and Kumasi.
The lockdown move by the government is meant to put restrictions on movement and also prevent the spread of the virus.
